Where To Route Putnam County Record Questions

For current jail, sheriff records, court, city jail, state-prison, federal, immigration, or notification questions, start with the office that controls that type of record.

  • Putnam County Jail: 111 Ridley Drive, Eatonton, GA 31024, (706) 485-2680. Use this for local jail custody, jail visits, inmate deposits, bond questions, and facility instructions.
  • Putnam County Sheriff's Office: 111 Ridley Drive, Eatonton, GA 31024, mailing address P.O. Box 3637, Eatonton, GA 31024-3637, (706) 485-8557. Public office hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Sheriff records requests may be sent to records@putnamcountysheriff.org, faxed to 706-485-4840, or mailed to Attn: Records at the P.O. Box.
  • Putnam County Clerk of Courts: 100 South Jefferson Avenue, Suite 236, Eatonton, GA 31024, (706) 485-4501. Use the clerk for Superior, State, and Juvenile Court case records after charges are filed.
  • Eatonton Police Department City Jail: 214 West Marion Street, Eatonton, GA 31024, (706) 485-3551. Use this for city police or municipal holding questions. For state-law arrests, the sheriff indicates arrestees are housed at the Putnam County Jail.
  • Georgia Department of Corrections: use the GDC offender search when a person has been sentenced to state prison or transferred from county custody to state custody.
  • Federal Bureau of Prisons and U.S. Marshals: use BOP for sentenced federal prisoners. For federal pretrial custody from Putnam County, the U.S. Marshals Middle District of Georgia is the more relevant routing point.
  • ICE Online Detainee Locator System: use ICE ODLS when immigration detention is possible. Georgia VINELink can also be checked for participating custody notifications.

Use The Matching Page First

  • For someone who may be in the county jail, review jail inmate records.
  • For booking photos and photo-access limits, use jail roster mugshots.
  • For charges, calendars, and case filings after arrest, use court records after a jail arrest.
  • For address and custody-context details, use the facility links in the footer.
  • For a sentenced state prisoner, use the Georgia Department of Corrections locator rather than the county jail.
  • For federal or immigration custody, use BOP, U.S. Marshals, or ICE channels instead of a Putnam County jail search.
